Lebanon Valley Cold Storage Breaks Ground!

Primus Builders joined the Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation on August 11th in Lebanon, PA to break ground on Phase 1 of a greenfield cold storage building to be operated by Lebanon Valley Cold Storage. Primus is providing design-build services on the project.

In attendance were Michael Byrd, President, Lebanon Valley Cold Storage; Darryl Cordwell, Vice President of Operations & Logistics Manager, Lebanon Valley Cold Storage; Dennis M. Darvin, Secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development; Susan Eberly, President/CEO, Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation; and Paul Grenier, Senior Vice President, Primus Builders, Inc.

“We love doing projects in Pennsylvania,” said Primus Senior Vice President Paul Grenier. “We’ve established strong relationships with local vendors and look forward to putting them to work on this project.”

The project has been master planned to total over 300,000 SF. Phase 1 will total 97,988 SF and provide room for expansion on both sides of the building. Phase 1 features include:

  • 12 dock doors
  • 36° dock
  • -10° freezer for bakery products
  • 40° sandwich making operation
  • 6,200 SF administrative office & employee common areas

This facility features state-of-the art, modular, industrial refrigeration systems that offer the lowest power consumption, use no water and require no hazard refrigerant on site.

Primus implemented Revit, a Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, from project kick off. Revit will allow the team to detect clashes during the design phase before construction begins in the field. It will also enhance communication between project stakeholders and aid in successfully meeting budget and schedule goals.

This project will bring 131 jobs over three years to the Lebanon Valley.
