August 11, 2009: Groundbreaking of their latest project - Chicken of the Sea
Primus Builders recently participated in the groundbreaking of their latest project — a renovation and freezer addition for Chicken of the Sea’s 200,000 SF Lyons, GA facility.
Chicken of the Sea recently implemented plans to move their tuna canning operation to Lyons and hired Primus Builders for the renovation project after an extremely competitive bidding process. Primus is charged with tailoring the existing facility to Chicken of the Sea’s specifications.
This fast-track project includes the addition of a 0° freezer, a 40° cold dock expansion, insulated metal panels, new dock positions with “fully loaded” dock packages and a specially-designed roof system modification.
The project was master-planned with future expansion in mind. This is the first tuna processing facility in the United States for Chicken of the Sea and one of only two in the nation that process tuna from frozen product into ready-to-eat canned goods.
