LAPORTE, TX Versacold Group is one of the largest public refrigerated warehouse companies in the world with 84 warehouses throughout the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe.
Due to growth in the Houston Port and surrounding areas, Versacold decided to expand its LaPorte, TX facility. Primus Builders was selected to provide turnkey design/build services on Versacold’s 88,000 SF freezer expansion.
The expansion entailed enlarging the existing -10° freezer, refrigerated dock, deslatting areas and adding 5 new blast cells. A new engine room was necessary to support the new expansion. The project is designed for 40’ clear with no in-rack sprinklers. Other features include a shrink- compensating concrete slab and a Sarnafil mechanically-fastened roof system.
