Redundant refrigeration services support fermentation operations designed to grow microalgae used in the production of omega-3 fatty acid DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)
as an infant formula, pregnancy and nursing supplement. A new central R-22 freon system was installed to provide 100 tons of cooling. Liquid carryover protection is provided by individual suction accumulators on each
compressor that are controlled by a central computer control system. This CPC RX- 300 system provides sophisticated compressor sequencing and staging, head pressure/suction pressure control, air unit defrost cycles, condenser VFD fan control and monitoring of all system sensors and alarms.
