As the industry leans towards greater environmental responsibility, owners have shown interest in facilities that reflect sustainable design and construction practices. As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Primus embraces this philosophy and is committed to helping you find ways to incorporate sustainable features into your cold storage or other design-build project.

It begins at project kick-off. Primus’s dedicated sustainability project manager will listen to your goals and work with your team to determine the level of sustainability that fits your project’s budget, schedule and desired LEED certification. Primus then integrates sustainable practices into the design-build process so that it becomes part of the overall approach, not an agenda item during commissioning.

In 2015, the International Association for Cold Storage Construction and Primus lobbied the U.S. Green Building Council to make changes to the LEED scorecard that would open the door for cold storage facilities to achieve LEED certification. As a result, Primus was able to achieve LEED certification on the following projects:

  • LEED Gold – United States Cold Storage, Covington, TN
  • LEED Gold – Kroger, Forest Park, GA
  • LEED Silver – Lineage Logistics, North Charleston, SC

If you are ready to lean into sustainable design and construction, Primus is ready to help.

Our team of design-build experts is ready to make your project a success.
