Our History

How it Began

Primus was founded in 2000 with the goal of building the best buildings with the best people. We began by delivering exceptional, big-project-style service on smaller cold storage distribution projects, quickly earning a reputation as one of the trusted cold storage contractors for clients with complex facility needs. Since then, Primus has grown into a leading provider of design-build-automate services for cold storage, grocery and manufacturing projects across the United States.

Primus has expanded to include four divisions: Primus Design Services, LLC; Primus Builders, Inc.; Primus Thermal Division; and our automation design division, Primus Solutions Group. Each unit specializes in a specific component of the design-build-automate process, collectively forming the foundation of the firm’s single-source approach. Because all four divisions are in-house, communication is seamless, allowing us to align your plans into one coordinated agenda that delivers on your business goals.
