Primus Solutions Group has ambitious goals for 2024. Achieving them requires a top-notch team of automation experts. The update below describes how this division is elevating its services by hiring and promoting the right people.

STEVEN DALTON – Promoted to Automation General Superintendent

Steve joined Primus in 2023. His more than 20-year career includes significant automated warehouse design-build experience. Most recently, he served as an automation installation project manager at Americold. This included field integration at our Apollo projects in Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Solutions Group Vice President Michael Johnson, who worked with Steven at Americold, said, “He has a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical automation and is exceptional at trouble shooting the intersection of automation and building systems.” As an automation general superintendent, Steven will be responsible for creating an automation spec document that will be a standard component in our RFP bids to vendors. He will also supervise site solutions managers as they get added to our team. A Navy veteran, Steven is organized; an expert at OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI compliance; and exceptional at coordinating efforts with all internal critical work streams to ensure a coordinated construction effort. He is currently serving on our Mar-Jac project.

JASON PERKS – Solutions Project Executive

Jason also joined Primus in 2023 after more than 20 years at Viastore where he was a top sales performer.  His ability to effectively provide automation solutions for complex distribution projects resulted in annual average sales of about $24 million. Jason uses his experience and industry knowledge to identify new opportunities and develop meaningful relationships with perspective customers. “We’re excited to have Jason on board to bring additional fire power to our automation sales,” said Primus President Matt Hirsch. In addition sales, his experience includes project executive responsibilities like overseeing the closure of challenging projects, managing software upgrades, executing system simulations with third-party providers and serving as a customer advocate for active projects and ongoing system and service topics. It is this combination of sales and customer management that makes him an ideal fit for the team. Jason lives and works in Michigan.

 

CHRISTOPHER BRACKINS – Solutions Project Manager 

Chris’s 20-year career has focused on manufacturing, industrial and warehouse automation work. His affinity for process led him to serving as an engineering manager at places like Nissan North America, Mueller Company, Methods Machine Tool, Heartland Automation, HAI Robotics and Southeastern Tool & Design. This includes tasks such as capacity studies, adapability studies, tool life correlations, Kaizen implementation, plant layout, time studies and line balancing. He has successfully managed international teams with numerous players, launched new software and has received certifications such as CMS (Certified Manufacturing Specialist), PMP (Project Management Professional) and his Black Belt (Nissan, Whirlpool Lean System, Alverta Business Institute), among others.

 

BENJAMIN FLETCHER – Solutions Superintendent

Ben is a motivated automation-focused superintendent with over 10 years of experience. His project history includes supervising union and non-union entities on projects featuring process piping, steam and gas turbine generators, food and beverage conveyor systems, car plants (GM, Nissan Tesla), building materials factories and heavy machinery. Ben continues to expand his skills by completing course work in subjects such as automation controls, P&IDs, pneumatics, hydraulics, machinery installation, troubleshooting, scheduling and planning. He is also trained in BlueBeam, Procore, Navisworks, Studio 5000, RsLinx, VMWare and Latista. Ben is a military veteran and millwright journeyman.
