Project details

Primus is providing engineering to support the planning for this complex poultry processing renovation and expansion project. The scope of work includes: 

  • Expanded and increased production operations  
  • New VRT freezer, refrigeration room and controls room
  • Configuration of conveyor from finished product lines to accommodate longer product queuing into and out of the VRT
  • Equipment upgrades for four production lines
  • One new production line
  • New shipping dock and shipping office
  • Conversion of part of the existing freezer to perishable finished goods storage to a new ASRS high density storage system with robot layer picking for order fulfillment 
  • New ASRS freezer warehouse to accommodate increased frozen storage volumes
  • Additional frozen stack off area between the VRT and freezer with robot palletizing 

Mar-Jac is currently processing 2.2 million chickens per week. Once this project is complete, they will be able to process 3.4 million chickens per week, a 65% increase in production.
